How Hot Should a Prom Dress Get?

Posted by admin on Tuesday, 24 May, 2011

Anyone who has spent time with teenagers in the last couple of years couldn’t help but notice that modern clothing trends leave little to the imagination. Most of the year, this flesh baring trend is awkward and inappropriate but it gets much worse during prom season. Many parents drop their jaws when they see their sweet young daughter trying on sexy prom dresses.

But when is the right time to pull the plug on risqué fashions?

Even though teenage girls won’t like it very much, parents should exercise a veto option on prom attire. Many formal and semi formal dresses are simply not appropriate for young women to be wearing to school events. Girls need to understand this and know exactly where the line between flirty and sexy attire rests.

Parents should also have a talk with their sons about what is proper attire for a formal event. Though boys rarely wear flesh bearing outfits, they are prone to renting ridiculous “pimp suits.” These garish ensembles are not appropriate for any occasion and should be immediately dismissed.

Whether it’s pimp hats on boys or overly sexy stripper shoes for women, today’s parents have their hands full keeping their kids in appropriate attire.

Score great deals on paddles and other items for Sigma Phi Epsilon or Delta Sigma Theta

It seems like frat brothers and sorority sisters are always in need of the basics such as pins and paddles from their local organizations whether they are part of Sigma Phi Epsilon or Delta Sigma Theta. If it seems that you are paying out a large chunk of your paycheck helping to prepare for your organizational events or on gifts for fellow members you may be heading to the wrong place to purchase your signature items. Believe it or not, there are more options than your local Greek store or college bookstore that can make being a Greek a little more cost effective.

When you purchase items from a Greek store or a place that sells Greek items on the side you will be paying both the retail markup price and the costs of the licensing fees that the store has to pay in order to sell the items. This is what makes the price of basic items such as paddles and pins so expensive. However, if you head online you can purchase the same items straight from the source or from a wholesaler and avoid these fees altogether which is why if you have some time before you need the items you may want to look online instead of at the same old place you previously have been shopping at.
